Overview:

The Employee Benefit Connections (EBC) Office maintains the functional integrity and database accuracy of the Lawson Benefit Administration System. This position handles highly sensitive information, and absolute confidentiality is required. The position will focus on providing superior customer service to all members of the Organization.

The EBC Benefits Coordinator position requires a high proficiency in the Lawson HRIS database.  This role’s primary focus is the processing, enrolling, updating, and maintaining of benefits data for employees for all participating institutions within the Archdiocese of New York by use of the Lawson Database.

 

Reports to:                  Manager of Employee Benefit Connections

 

Work Location:          488 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10022                

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Review all new hire data and amendments to ensure accuracy.
  • Enter employee benefit data using the Lawson, United HealthCare, and CVS/Health database systems.
  • Handle high volume workflow during peak period.
  • Process billing adjustments to monthly consolidation invoice on a timely basis.
  • Handle distribution of monthly Coverage Continuation Right Letters and Health Exchange Notifications mailings.
  • Maintain the benefit continuation of coverage process, including, weekly notifications, monthly invoices, and all related mailings; Coverage Continuation letters and NYS Young Adult Continuation, etc.
  • Maintain a timely response rate to inquiries according to office standards.
  • File data and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Special Projects, ad-hoc reports, and other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Benefits and Manager of EBC.

 

Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Benefits related field preferred or equivalent experience required.
  • 1-3+ years relevant experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • High degree of confidentiality required.
  • Detail-oriented. Ability to key in data accurately and timely.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Highly proficient in computer-based HRIS systems.
  • Prior experience with Lawson HRIS is highly preferred.
  • Multitask effectively during peak time, and exercise patience and professionalism.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong team player with ability to work independently.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is highly preferred.

 

Compensation range for this position is: $30.22 – $32.97 per hour.
This position is considered full-time, non-exempt, and eligible for overtime.
