Bishop Robert Brennan of the Diocese of Brooklyn will welcome Archbishop Nelson J. Perez of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to celebrate a Mass honoring the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 12 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Archbishop Perez will be the main celebrant and homilist at the Mass to be offered for the promotion of harmony among all people. During the Mass, one of Dr. King’s speeches will be read. The Mass is being organized by the Vicarate Office of Black Catholic Concerns for the Diocese of Brooklyn.

This year marks the 60th Anniversary of the signing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by President Lyndon B. Johnson.

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church is located at 1550 Hendrickson Street in the Flatlands section of Brooklyn.
