The archdiocese does not have a centralized, searchable database of all sacramental records. Each parish keeps its own records of baptisms, first communions, confirmations, marriages, and funerals. To request a copy of your record, you will need to contact the parish where the record is stored.
You can find all parishes in the Archdiocese of New York on our Parish Finder. If you are looking for a record from the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens, please click here.
If you are unsure of the parish where your sacrament was performed, please complete this form here and the Archives will help you locate the parish.
If the parish has since closed, please refer below for the list of record locations. Click the parish for more information on contacting the parish’s office.
For assistance in locating records relating to genealogical research, you may review the Genealogy Research Policy and submit your search request through the Archives here. Requests are filled in the order they are received and can take several weeks to process.
